Future of Talent

Format of Conference

The Future of Talent Retreat is designed as highly interactive experience. We work in small teams and engage in conversations led by one of our attending "gurus" on a particular topic.

Jay Cross leads a small sessionMostly you will interact in small groups, in informal events, with plenty of time in between for nature walks on the Northern California coast. There will be lots of time to probe and question the experts, and then weave it all together so that you leave with a highly personalized understanding of your next steps.

Even our large group sessions will have innovative formats and promise to be different from what you have experienced before. We believe that retreats should be an opportunity to break away from old patterns of behavior, and break in new patterns of thought.

Throughout the event, we will collect and synthesize emergent ideas and concepts , using new collaborative tools that will allow us to literally put together a picture of the future of talent that should keep us invigorated , excited and on the leading edge for some time to come.

We make extensive use of visuals and graphics and Eileen Clegg, our resident graphic facilitator, OD expert and journalist will help us capture everything on paper.

Eileen Clegg draws

Eileen is an expert at capturing the essence of what is said and in finding an icon or image that will clearly remsind us later on about what was said.  These graphics are wonderful ways to evoke the feelings, emotions and thoughts that were taking place at a given time.  Even months later you will see one of these graphics and instantly recall who said what and in what context.

These also serve as colorful ways to explain to others what you experienced and to keep a record of that experience on your wall.
